• 

  How long does it take plaster to dry and when will I know it is ready for painting?

  Normally between 1 and 2 days, however if an undercoat plaster has been applied before the finishing skim, then it can take longer.

  Having a warm house will help speed up the process.  The plaster is ready to paint when its colour turns from dark brown to a salmon coloured pink.

  How do you price up your work?

  Jobs are priced by surface area and the surface onto which the plaster is being applied. However, if you have a number of repairs that need addressing, then you can hire one of our plasterers on a daily rate in order to maximise value for money.

  Is your service clean?

  Yes we provide a clean service; dust sheets are laid down to protect carpet and furniture from any wet plaster. Plaster creates an extremely fine dust which can settle for some days after work is carried out. We are unable to prevent this happening, but it is easily wiped clean with a damp cloth/mop.

  Is there a guarantee on your work?

  Yes. We take great pride in delivering customer satisfaction on every job. If in the unfortunate event you are unhappy with any work carried out, please feel free to let us know and we will fix the problem free of charge.

  Can you plaster over wall paper?

  No. If plaster is applied to wall paper then all that happens is the paper bubbles up from the moisture. Wall paper must be removed back to the old plaster. Plastering over painted walls is fine, as long as a PVA sealant is applied to the wall first.

• 

  Must I remove Artex or can you plaster over it?

  If the Artex is loose then it is best removed and then the ceiling/walls underneath can be skimmed. However if it is well bonded to the surface well then we first seal it with PVA, and then plaster over it to produce a smooth finish ready for painting.

  How long does the average plastering job take?

  Due to the variety of jobs we undertake, times can vary. Simple jobs such as repairs or the re-skimming of a wall will take between 1-3 hours; the re-skimming of an average sized room between 1-2 days; a whole house can take up to 2 weeks.

• 

  Are you available at short notice?

  We are very busy, but will try to accommodate your needs as quickly as possible. Jobs such as repairs and small re-skims can usually be undertaken at short notice. If you have an emergency then please contact us and we will do our best to help!

  Do you provide any other services related to construction?

  No we do not directly, but we have honest and reliable contacts within the trade and would be happy to put you in touch with them.
